WHY:
Technology takes a part in most people’s life and is usually used throughout the entire day. To get things done by a click or a swipe has become both intuitive and time-saving. Yet, why do we keep running out of time? It seems like taking the time to be presence in the moment is nearly forgotten.
WHAT:
Hattifnatt is a lamp concept; it functions as a light but meant to enlighten. The lamp’s main features are the texture and its aesthetics. By highlighting the texture, it will create warm and suiting atmosphere in the room. This is meant to calm the user and reduce stress. The lamp is a contributor to good mental health by enlighten the importance of presence. The brightness of the lamp is a converter between daylight and darkness. Therefor it could make it easier to fall asleep by preparing the body’s internal clock in the time before bed.

HOW:
It is composed of expanded metal in a spherical shape with organza extruded through the pattern of the metal. The technique is carefully thought trough and tested to achieve the best suiting appearance and light combination. The lamp’s function is based on emotions and to create a relaxing atmosphere for the user.
In 2018 the concept was nominated for the Norwegian Light Prize – UNG
